midwife and oils

I am a midwife and I attend home births.

I love being able to use my favorite essential oils not only with my family but also at work because I know I can use them safely. They are of superior quality to those commonly found on the market. They are therapeutic grade (100% pure, 100% natural, and 100% whole) and have a "seed to seal" guarantee. If you're interested in learning more about Young Living's quality, CLICK HERE.

Before applying an oil, I always let the mother smell it to see if she likes the perfume, and if so, I will apply it.

I want to start by describing my friend STRESS AWAY16434601881_9494370406_m

Fabulous synergy of Copaiba, Lime, Cedarwood, Vanilla, Ocotea, and Lavender. I use it a lot, not because I'm always under stress, but it does make me see things from a different perspective, especially when I'm tired and exhausted from the day. With mothers who are very worried about "overdoing it" and being induced by medication in the hospital, I've advised them more than once to put Stress Away on their wrists and neck during the consultation and have a positive effect, going home calmly and starting to go into labor at night. The human brain plays a very important role during labor <3 and we midwives know it!! I love putting Stress Away on when I go home from work. Besides the smell, which I love, it gives me more confidence and peace of mind, making me more alert and following my instincts.

One of my favorite blends that I use during labor is15813843274_9143b1eecf_m he 16410398336_3f7da18cba_mValor (synergy of: Spruce, Blue Tansy, Rosewood, Incense) together with Peace & Calming (a blend of: Tangerine, Blue Tansy, Patchouli, Ylang-ylang, Orange), which instills confidence, unlocks fears, and provides a sense of peace and tranquility, which are key to continuing to produce oxytocin and relaxin (hormones that support contractions). They can be diffused or applied to the chest and neck. Valor can also be applied to the lower back, with the chiropractor on the bottle.

Another oil that I can use from time to time is Clary Sage – Sage 16434606211_796cce3a28_mClary sage, which is contraindicated during pregnancy, is a friend during childbirth. Since ancient times, this plant has been closely linked to feminine nature. Like lavender, clary sage is used as a tranquilizer during childbirth, helping to soothe pain and ease and relax the mother during the birth of her baby. Due to its antispasmodic properties, it is used to relieve labor pains, but it is also used to increase contractions. Due to its estrogen-mimetic hormone properties, it is the most suitable essential oil for restoring female hormonal imbalances. It has been used to combat premenstrual symptoms, menstrual cramps, hormonal disorders, during menopause (hot flashes, mood swings, sleep disorders), to combat dysmenorrhea, amenorrhea, etc.

He En-R-gee, as the word says, is a synergy (rosemary, juniper, citronella, nutmeg16434605691_8d733435d1_m, balsam fir, clove, and black pepper) that I love to use when I'm feeling exhausted from fatigue or right after the transition phase to strengthen and energize for the final phase of labor, the second stage. Transition phase: between 8-10 cm dilated, the phase in which contractions decrease in intensity and frequency to give the mother and baby a chance to rest, normally lasting between 15-60 minutes. I apply En-R-gee along the spine, wrists, and neck.
