Have you seen the almond trees in bloom?
Spring is almost here! Actually, it will be on March 20th…
I love seeing the trees waking up from their winter sleep…
Unfortunately, some people also start to get allergies 🙁
Essential oils can be an alternative to help our body respond well to allergy symptoms.
What is an allergy?
An allergy is a reaction of the immune system to a harmless substance found in what you breathe, touch, or eat.
The substances that cause allergies, called allergens, can come from both nature and chemistry. These trigger a disproportionate response from the immune system, which is responsible for triggering the allergic reaction. Its mission is fundamental, as it recognizes the entry of foreign elements into our body and organizes a defense against them. Therefore, allergies are a kind of exaggerated reaction, a "loss of control" within the body, which expresses itself through bothersome symptoms.
Substances that usually cause major reactions include pollen, dust mites, mold spores, pet hair, food, insect bites, and medications.
Allergies can cause runny nose, sneezing, itching, rashes, edema (swelling), or asthma.
Those who are used to allergies know very well that "conventional medications" work very well but also cause side effects such as drowsiness, rebound effects, and atrophy of the olfactory mucosa and/or skin. Aromatherapy uses essential oils with calming and sedative properties, thereby modifying this aggressive reaction of the body.
Natural antihistamine
3 drops of peppermint essential oil
3 drops of lemon essential oil
3 drops of lavender essential oil
Diluted in a vegetable oil (V-6, almond…) I recommend using organic vegetable oils, free of chemicals and pesticides.
The mint opens the airways.
The lavender It has antihistamine properties.
He lemon It is antibacterial and also eliminates toxins from our body and those around us.
The following mixtures can also be used:
Immupower: to stimulate the immune system.
Raven, RC, and Breathe Again when allergy symptoms are like those of a cold.
Purification: for sneezing.
For example, you can use the Breathe Again roll-on (Breathe again) if you have severe chest congestion. Apply to your chest morning and night.
Let's see how I can apply them:
These essential oils can be applied as body oil, in aromatic baths, inhalations, in a diffuser, or as compresses on the affected area (in case of allergic skin reactions, irritations, hives, etc.).
Apply the essential oil blend behind the ears, behind the neck and on the sides of the nose as many times as necessary.
Peppermint essential oil is a very strong oil, so a vegetable oil (almond, coconut, extra virgin olive oil) should always be used to dilute the mixture.
Use in the diffuser: Put equal parts lemon mint and lavender in the diffuser.
