Father's Day is celebrated in Spain on March 19th.

In the European Catholic tradition it is usually commemorated on March 19, Saint Joseph's Day, father of Jesus (as a good father and protector) as Father's Day, in honor of fatherhood and the importance of this figure in the lives of children.

According to some sources, around 1950, it seems that a teacher decided to celebrate this day at the request of some parents who complained that if there was a Mother's Day, why wouldn't there be one for fathers?
